Restylane Side Effects Cause Many People To Look Elsewhere

Restylane is an FDA approved injectable cosmetic filler that is frequently used for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and/or lip augmentation. The substance is designed to add cushioning to your skin as well as attract moisture, which prevents skin from becoming dehydrated.

But as with all fillers, there are potential Restylane side effects to contend with that have many people looking elsewhere to improve their appearance.

What is Restylane exactly?

Restylane is a gel substance made with hyaluronic acid. Although hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the human body, the hyaluronic acid substance in Restylane does not come from either an animal or human source, but is described as a stabilized form of hyaluronic acid.

Restylane is injected into the skin with a fine needle and produces visible results immediately following the procedure. The injections are thought to be only slightly uncomfortable; however, depending on the area being injected, the physician may apply anesthesia to the area before giving the injection.

The primary purpose of Restylane injections is to correct signs of aging, such as wrinkles, creases and fine lines on the face. It is typically used to eliminate the creases that are visible from the nose to the mouth, frown lines in the forehead, crow’s feet and the space between the eyebrows. In some situations, They are used to plump lips and give the mouth more definition.

How long does Restylane last?

The effects of Restylane typically last about six months to one year for injections in the face and about 24 weeks for treatment to the lips.

Restylane is biodegradable, so it naturally and gradually dissipate into the body.

What about the side effects?

The primary disadvantage of Restylane and other injectables is that the results are only temporary and the injections can be expensive. The cost varies depending on where you live, the frequency of the injections and if you have additional procedures done at the same time of the Restylane injections.

The potential Restylane side effects at the injection site are usually temporary and may include swelling, redness and tenderness.

However, the results are often not what it is expected, even when performed by a skilled dermatologist or aesthetician.  So the side effect of Restylane that is most problematic is that more often than not, your appearance will be very unnatural and strange looking.

So you might not suffer any lasting health effects, but you may be stuck with a very strange appearance until the results wear off.  It's definitely something to think about, not to mention the high costs and the fact that it's not covered buy insurance.

That's why more and more people are turning to natural skin care products to achieve the same results without having to get painful injections for the rest of their lives.
